Clear about what this website collects — and what it does not.

01 · Who is responsible

Ansaar Muslim Sisters is responsible for this notice.

Where Ansaar determines why and how personal information is used, it acts as the organisation responsible for that processing. This notice applies to the public website, information submitted through the membership and contact enquiry forms, information used in the temporary Paystack test donation checkout, and information you choose to provide through contact methods published by Ansaar.

02 · What we collect

Only information connected to a clear purpose.

Membership application information. The Get Involved page includes a membership application provided through Fillout. If you submit it, the information you enter—such as your name, contact details, location, interests and any other answers you choose to provide—is processed so Ansaar can review and respond to your membership enquiry.

Contact enquiry information. The Contact page includes a general enquiry form provided through Fillout. If you submit it, Ansaar may receive your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address where provided, the subject of your enquiry and the message you submit so the team can respond.

Paystack test checkout information. The Donate page currently includes a temporary Paystack test-mode checkout for testing the online giving flow. If you use it, Paystack receives information needed to create the test transaction, including the email address, test amount, selected giving purpose and transaction details generated during checkout. Test-mode transactions do not move real money and are not treated by this website as confirmed donations.

Information you choose to provide elsewhere. If you contact Ansaar through an email address, phone number, WhatsApp link or another published channel, Ansaar may receive your name, contact details and the information included in your message.

Technical website information. When the site or an embedded service is loaded, hosting, security and service providers may process information such as IP address, browser or device details, request time and pages requested in order to deliver and protect the website or provide the embedded service.

Sensitive information. The website forms are not intended to collect unnecessary sensitive categories of personal data. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in free-text answers unless it is genuinely relevant to your enquiry and Ansaar has asked for it.

03 · How we use information

For the reason it was provided.

Personal information may be used to review and respond to membership applications, respond to contact enquiries, test the online donation experience, communicate about Ansaar’s programmes or activities, maintain website security, keep appropriate organisational records, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Kenya’s Data Protection Act requires personal data to be processed on a lawful basis. Depending on the circumstances, lawful grounds can include consent, taking steps at your request, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests that do not override your rights and freedoms.

The Act also requires personal data that identifies an individual not to be kept for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to any lawful retention requirement.

04 · Third parties

Some services help deliver the website, forms, payments and media.

The website is delivered through third-party hosting and infrastructure services. The membership and contact enquiry forms are provided through Fillout, which processes information needed to display the forms and receive the answers you submit. The temporary donation checkout uses Paystack in test mode. The website also currently loads the Manrope typeface through Google Fonts and embeds video content from YouTube and Instagram on selected programme pages.

If you use the Paystack test checkout or interact with embedded YouTube or Instagram content, those service providers may receive technical information needed to provide the requested service in accordance with their own privacy practices. Instagram content is provided by Meta and may use cookies or similar technologies when the embedded reel loads or is played.

If you follow a link to WhatsApp, Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook or another external platform, your use of that platform is governed by its own privacy practices.

Personal information may be shared with service providers where necessary to support the organisation, or where disclosure is required by law. Kenyan data-protection law restricts transfers of personal data outside Kenya unless the required safeguards, consent or another lawful basis applies.

05 · Cookies & analytics

No advertising analytics are currently built into the site.

The site itself does not include Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or another advertising analytics script. Embedded services such as Fillout, Paystack, YouTube and Instagram may use cookies or similar technologies where needed to provide their service, particularly when you interact with embedded forms, payment checkout or video content. If advertising analytics, marketing cookies or similar tracking tools are introduced later, this notice and any consent mechanism will be reviewed before those tools are relied on.

06 · Your rights

You have rights over personal data held about you.

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, you may have the right to be informed about how your personal data is used, access personal data held about you, object to certain processing, request correction of inaccurate or misleading information, and request deletion where the law allows it. Data portability rights may also apply in relevant circumstances.

If you believe your data-protection rights have not been respected, you may also raise a concern with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

07 · Children’s data

The current website forms are not child registration forms.

Some Ansaar programmes may involve young people, but the membership and general contact forms on this website are not presented as registration forms for a child or for a youth programme. Please do not submit a child’s personal information through these forms or general website contact channels unless Ansaar has directed you to an approved registration or information-collection process.

Under Kenyan data-protection law, processing personal data relating to a child generally requires consent from a parent or guardian and safeguards that protect the child’s rights and best interests.
